This restoration in Norwood, one of Adelaide’s most popular suburbs, called for the complete refurbishment of an existing heritage cottage. The project included an additional extension to the rear of the house and the complete removal of existing walls, electrical, plumbing, roof iron, guttering and downpipes, timber floors, doors and skirtings, fences, and driveway.
Following completion of a careful and complex removal stage, we were ready to realise the owner’s new vision. We installed a new roof and insulation, along with fascia, gutters and downpipes. We then fitted new wall linings, cabinets, vanities and cupboards. Timber flooring was installed throughout the cottage. Elegant lighting acts as a connecting design feature throughout the house, while new doors, skirtings and architraves were fitted to give the home an updated sense of modern comfort. Re-imaging a heritage building for modern living while still respecting its origins is a fascinating challenge. This project in particular demonstrates our approach to finding the right solutions for our client’s vision of how they want to live.
